Women’s Asics Running Shoes - Review

BEST BUYS!

Asics Women's running shoes

As more and more women join the ranks of men on the track, roads, and trails, women have become more vocal about their running shoe needs.  Because men previously dominated the world of running, running shoes were typically designed with the male foot in mind.  Fortunately, women have been heard, and women’s Asics running shoes have been designed specifically for the female foot and body build.

In the past, when women decided to become runners, they didn’t have much choice in running shoes.  Basically, the shoes available to them were simply men’s running shoes, only smaller.  Companies, such as Asics, have become aware that women’s running shoe needs are different than men’s needs.

Why do women need a different style of running shoe than do men?

  • Women’s heels are generally narrower than men’s, and therefore, most women need a running shoe with a narrower heel.
  • Women are built differently than men—with women having wider pelvises and shorter thigh bones, causing women to run differently than men.

Proper shoe fit and stability are very important in helping to prevent running injuries.  Because women’s running shoes are still often designed after the male running shoe, they generally do not fit properly, and they don’t provide adequate stability for the female runner.  As a result, women are much more prone to running injuries than are men.

Understanding the different gender needs when designing a good running shoe has become an important goal at Asics.  Through research and technological advancements, Asics women’s running shoes are evolving and constantly improving.  Fit, comfort, cushioning, and stability are more in line with a woman’s foot, the physical build of a woman, and the way a woman runs.

With the proper running shoe, women will be less prone to running injuries.  And, running will be a more enjoyable sport for women to participate in!
